Yellow Split Pea 500g
Like green split peas, yellow split peas cook swiftly (in around 45 minutes) and form a puree when ready. Yellow split peas are similar to Channa Dhal and Toor Dhal. These peas have a soft texture and a mild, often earthy flavour. Best when cooked with assertive flavourings like garlic, lemon and onions.
Yellow split peas contain folic acid and B vitamins that are essential to the construction of healthy new cells. They are also a good source of protein and fibre.
Used to make brightly coloured pea soups or added to soups and stews, yellow split peas are good in curried dishes over basmati rice or as a base for a soup, flavoured with lemon and cumin.
